What sort ot time commitment is asked for ?

To start with anything between 6 months and 2 years.

Is there a trial period ?

We suggest to the candidates coming and visiting us a few days before deciding their voluntary service.

At the end of the first month as a volunteer, a meeting will be held to discuss how the community and the volunteer see his/her future at Les Sapins.

Is French language required ?

A minimum understanding of spokenFrench is necessary since you will work in a French speaking environment. However many foreign volunteers come with little French and progress during their stay.

If I am interested in Les Sapins, what should I do ?

Contact us by e-mail or by letter and we will be happy to send you an application form. This needs to be completed and returned along with a copy of your C.V. and a letter explaining why you want to come. If everything in your application is satisfactory, we will get in touch and arrange your start date.

Once at Les Sapins, who is my boss and who can I go to if I have any questions ?

Your direct boss is your house leader. You will also have regular contact with the person in charge of co-ordinating and following the volunteers.

Will I get any training ?

Yes. You will receive in-house training on many subjects and there is also regional training sessions, with volunteers from different local communities.
