You will be part of a team of house assistants, helping with the daily households tasks, putting in place each persons individual care plans, participating in leisure activities and being key worker for a resident(s).

Life at Les Sapins is based on gratuity. Both assistants and residents help each other in the ways that they are able, to cope with daily life. Often people do not realise that "living with" uses no more energy, time and emotions than "doing for".

Being an assistant is a unique experience: You'll give and share your time to and with the people in our homes. You'll have daily work hours. In return, you'll receive room and board, a monthly allowance and social insurance (you won't have any medical care to pay for, in case of disease or accident).

You'll take part in weekly training to help you in your work and in two three-days sessions along with assistants from other French communities of l'Arche.

As an assistant in LES SAPINS, you'll have a special legal status: "the volontariat". The volontariat status is only granted to people belonging to the EEC (the 25 countries + Island, Norway and Liechtenstein), between 18 and 28 years.

You will have a private single room in one of our 3 houses. You will share your meals with the people with whom you live except on your days off.

You will have 3 hours time off per day, a day off per week and a full weedend every 3 weeks. You are entitled 6 weeks holidays during the year.

You will get a monthly volunteer's allowance of 300 € minimum, tax deducted, includind board, lodging and a full health insurance cover (100%).
